Sand worms are an entity on many No mans Sky planets. They are unscannable, but have many fans and are very rare.

I’ve seen one before, they’re beautiful. You can’t scan them, but you can appreciate them.

Are those bubble glitches?? Dear god, their beautiful! How’d you find those? I’d love to include them in my builds!

you find them on bubble glitch planets; they have the prefix of "bubbling" or "frothing" and things like that
they're a bit hard to spot but if you look for a few minutes you should find some

Prototype for a nearly-zero-surface-level extraction/power/etc base.

basically, step 1 is figuring out the extent of the harvesting area, and then excavating that and build an enclosed area for it (you don't need to fill this up)

Step 2: Figure out where you put the Supply Depots, and excavate that.

I do want to do research to see if solar panels will work while buried, too.

But basically the goal of this is to leave the surface untouched, except with a staircase sticking out of the ground. when the game fills the dirt back in, all you'll have is a supply depot or two and a portal on the surface, and whatever else.

This includes power cable/Supply Pipe runs.

As for why you build a mini-room around them, it's so wehn yo need to come down to make changes/add on to things, you just excavate until you hit a wall, then follow the wall around the room, then make changes.

the world I saw versus the one I see now is so different. After the battles, the volcanos burned so many planets. But their after affects are so much better. The grass glows, the lava soaked into the ground, and the plants ponder with beauty. Some planets, though, weren’t so fortunate.

The way she rode the creature… with such elegance… as though she knew what she was doing. She’d done it before. The creature was calmed by her presence, and didn’t mind her there. I remember the day I called her, “The Fauna Tamer.” I never thought she’d live up to that name, but… here we are.

As she shot at the plants, her guns laser suddenly went askew, hitting a nearby rock. To her utter shock, the rock got up, crab-like legs shooting out from underneath it. She shrieked, stumbling back in fear. But as she drew closer, she saw the creature was more fearsome of her than she was of it. It was running towards the ocean. She ran as fast as she could, which wasn’t fast enough. It leapt into the water, and to her dismay, when it hit the rocky sea floor, it sunk below the mud. All the anomalous discoveries she’s seen… what was Euclid trying to tell her? Was it in danger? But of what? Or…

I hated to admit it… but I was afraid of these things. A true explorer would find out how to study them. But I didn’t want to see another anomalous thing. Euclid was in danger, and it was stuffing it’s anomalous creatures everywhere in-front of me. Showing me how they were dying off. Slowly. But I couldn’t save Euclid. I was just a lone traveller. I noticed mysterious gas was spewing from the tentacles of the octopi creatures. We’re these things poisoning Euclid?

Just to be safe, I shot them until they were all gone. Had I done it? Was this system free from the toxins?

But I watched in horror as the creatures popped back up in the air, like forming new generations from their own toxins. One appeared infront of my face, old and frail.

“We are the ancient ones. Euclid has tried to burn us, send travellers to exterminate us, like pests. But like pests, we escape. We are tired of your guns, shooting us to the core. We will destroy Euclid. We will destroy the galaxies. Every planet, every lush system will feel the wrath of lava spewing over their burning plants.
