Experiment, experiment, experiment. Take a whole day to sit on a planet and just mess around with all the settings. Get a feel for what you like and what you see.

Play with the sun position, you can get some great colours when the sun is just above the horizon and about to set. Also during storms, playing with the sun and different filters during storms can have some interesting results

How to avoid blurry screenshots (PC)

1. Go to Steam settings -> In game tab -> Check "save an external copy of my screenshots" and set a custom folder.

2. Instead of taking the pic by left clicking in photomode, use Steam's screenshot key(F12). Be sure to hide the photomode UI first
