if youre talking about corvettes, you can mine salvageable scrap to get modules as well as buying them in space stations.
if youre talking about making a custom starship, salvage parts from ships you scrap at space stations (or settlements if you upgrade a starport enough)

for a custom starship, not a corvette, you can either salvage the ship you want, giving parts to sell, or the other option that will give a specific part, like a wing, body, etc

The solar sails on a solar ship can recharge many things on the ship by just flying around

So you don't have to waste resources constantly recharging anything just fly around for a few minutes and there you go everything's recharged

Except warp drives I don't think it recharges warp drives

Different stats. Fighters have the best damage potential and shields to help in combat. Explorers have cheap liftoff costs and higher hyperdrive range. Solars have innate auto recharge and super low pulse engine costs and higher maneuverability

I think any system has a small chance to have one of their shuttles replaced with a solar, but in a pirate system the change is way higher

Yeah it works but the only problem with it is you have to spend at least a good 10 minutes on uninstalling everything then you have to spend 15 minutes reinstalling everything and charging everything up because after you uninstall it it takes away all its charge

I used the Osprey the marines have and I turned it into an actual ship. It sucks mines a two story ship but it works out in the end. Dimensionally appalling to look at.
