for one thing make sure to only have one person's freighter active in the system, the other thing is to sync using the anomaly to be in the same renderspace

Your base normally transfers as-is when you upgrade/trade freighters, though you have an option to reset it to get the random freighter base the new one has instead. Your storage rooms/cubes content also will be the same, but during the upgrade/trade process make sure to move any tech you want to transfer and transfer the old freighter inventory during the process as it is a one-time opportunity.

To put the odds into better perspective, pirate systems have a 1/20 chance for an s class freighter.
3 star economies have a 1/50 chance

once you find the specific dreadnought you want (only difference is a possible accent color that is unchangable) just keep warping into that system

Yes, though I think most who've done that for their squadron didnt use ships from the same system/station

you can trade in the ship you want before you recruit them

So I kept finding great pilots and I didn't like their ship so I bought them a new ship bute had a terrible pilot. So I tried trading the good pilot the ship that I had from the bad pilot it was all in the same station by the way. What kept happening so was the terrible little green gek with spawn with the ship that I just traded to the good pilot and become the bad pilot it was frustrating

Yeah I advise grabbing ships from different systems or using ships that dont typically spawn with npcs

I realized that I can make a squadron of starborn runners!
