if you move your freighter a lot they reset. has something to do with the positioning system in the game. best way i found to get the Stellar Extractor to work is build them, sit in the freighter AFK for a bit, then harvest them. after as long as i don't move my freighter they behave

I don't know I play at 75 cuz I mean unless you have a $400 monitor or more most monitors can only do between 60 and 75 a second anyway If you look at your monitor and it says you get 60 Hertz well then it don't matter if your game says 120 frames per second at all you only get a see 60 cuz that's all your monitors going to do. In other words you're monitor hard caps all frame rates

First time I played on my pc I spawned inside of a wall of flame

I reset the save and ended up with a nice cool -65 degrees

Pro tips:
Learn your menus and controls before you worry too much about the quest prompts.
Open the main menu once you're in, and go to the options/network tab, and disable multiplayer AND pvp.
Keep pvp off forever, turn multiplayer back on once you have about 15 hours played.
The quests "Dreams of the Deep" and "The settlers" are given to the player too early. Ignore them. Do other things.
Until you have been to the OMG IS THAT GONNA HIT ME Anomaly, and met Polo and Nada NPCs, don't stray too far from the questline.
After you meet Nada and Polo DO STRAY from the questline. Start exploring and fiddling around. At this point, you are no longer restricted.

If you ever start a new one, maybe PD or something, remember that you start the game with blueprints for ion battery and gel pack, and as long as your first purchase is a shield upgrade for suit, you should be okay.

Then died from drowning...annnd once to a space attack when I got my starship after the base. Didn't realize I could switch them at the space station. Lmfao I thought I lost my base starship after looking for it for about an hour or so

Went to the space station and dorked around with the controls. Saw i could switch my ships and went "OOOOHHHH!!!"

I've only visited 8 different star systems and got my first freighter a few days ago. Just been flying around looking for new starships and frigates to recuit all while ignoring the main story line lol

Neither did I ... I probably get killed off 3 to 5 times as well.
I know I absolutely quit the game and cursed it to hell 4 times before I finally understood what it wanted from me when it said "upload base" to continue. Didn't realize I needed to talk to the computer / was looking everywhere else for the upload option. Only came back because a friend had gifted me the game, and I didn't want to let them down.

I wasn't on any social media at the time, and he was gone to wherever the hell he went, so I had noone to solve my issue 😄
