No? You entering a ship to save or interaction with a save beacon is a voluntary action. There is an option to reload to automatic save and a seperate option to reload a restore point.

Is your character entering a ship by themselves or do you press a button? To be fair there are some points where game will create a restore point automatically such as claiming a freighter, but otherwise it's your action.

I get that you would probably prefer to have a "save game" option with multiple slots for saving and to reload to

But NMS doesn't have that

You have either autosave or a restore point, and only one of each. Creating a new one overwrites the previous one. If you are on PC, you can copy the save file from the folder.

Better way to get nanites is from a runaway mold farm on a planet

can get a few thousand from that

then reload or go to space and come back to respawn the mold

Once you find the mold balls, I would recommend building a base there, with a fenced in area around them, as they like to roll away once you start mining them. Then just mine them with your mining beam

After that, just refine the mold straight into nanites
