Gather some basic resources needed for survival -- oxygen, ferrite, sodium, etc. Then get some resources worth selling for units -- cobalt in caves or silver/gold from shooting asteroids in orbit. Upgrade your exosuit as fast as possible. Just spend some time running around, exploring, looking for Salvaged Data, Ancient Data Structures, or other points of interest. Beware that collecting Gravatino Balls or Sentient Plants will attract Sentinel attacks

It is arguable either way. The best stats can be achieved by getting a C-class with good starting stat rolls and then upgrading it to S-class, as it rerolls its stats (always improving) at each class upgrade. But for immediate value, a well-rolled S-class typically with more module slots can be enjoyed right now. So pick your poison 😉

I'm not keeping up on stat ranges lately, you may want to ask in #nms-modding : I think they have the stat ranges extracted as tables, likely in pinned messages. Oh, yah, and slot ranges vary with type of multitool (like pistol vs. rifle, etc.) so that is the reason for the fewer slots. Within the same type, you would see more slots with higher classes, typically.

How to get started...

1. Complete the Artemis Path (the main story of the game).

3. Find a Harmonic Camp and release the multi-tool seal.
