So, do you ever see the celebration of the settlement after defeating the Sentinels? If not, it didn't really complete. (But you should see an indicator saying how many are left.) If not, that may be glitched. I had that happen, and finally after about 10 or so times it finally completed.

Are you new? Use Normal until you master the game mechanics, and my recommendations are to back up your save files every so often and restore them when glitches kill you. (I consider it fair: glitches are unfair.)

I usually do perma death on every survival game bc respawning seems like cheating idk

Nah, there are too many fatal glitches to not backup save files. Also, if you Alt-F4 the game before the death screen plays too long, you can prevent the save being erased. Thanks to that, I was able to report the fatal glitch where if you park your exocraft too close to a ship summoning pylon before saving your ship may take off without you and crash randomly killing you even though you were not in it. Like I said, too many fatal glitches. No codebase is perfect.

Lol, but that is one reason I shelved my PermaDeath save after getting the achievement. (And skipped all risky behaviors like settlements, picking fights with Sentinels, etc. until then.)

Though some require you play a while to get the appropriate situation lined up to kill you.

The tutorial sucks, but imo the game is worth it. In the future early game, look on the analysis visor for anything with a star on the horizon. That'll net you some units usually and also likely has little other use

The star waypoints will also be a pop up yellow color for anything valuable, and the more present/aggressive the little robot "sentinels" are the more you'll find on a planet

I don't remember the exacts but I think the game will tell you after you warp to another system to get more fuel. It'll throw some more BS at you to chain into the beginning of the story and some other mechanics, but shortly after that you're "let off the leash" so to speak

The story being started by the tutorial may seem annoying, but come back to it sometime later in the game. I recommend taking time to just spread your wings once the tutorial finally ends but it's actually decent once you decide to get down to doing it

no offset building just makes it so u can build things in a way in vanilla when normally it wont let you, by using tricks like using a vent on a block, and snapping a piece to the vent, and deleting the block and vent then snapping on other parts to the offset part

can the creature on a planet change? because the only creature thats on a planet i found is no longer there but is replaced by a different creature, it was on a exotic world with the white structure with a purple core (petrified world)

simply put, no high flyers or underwaters or diggers are tamable. If you use the rightmost tab on your visor, and the animal doesn't show stats, it's untamable.

There are still a few mid-flyers you can adopt
