I will disagree with this. If put together right they are by far the best all around ships...not the absolute best at any one stat but they have no real weakness to speak of combined with the best cargo capacity ships can have. And the base component of it is huge...they can grow plants for cooking, carry all the cargo containers, refiner, cooking station, and you can put barrel and crate fabricators on there too in case you happen to need a racial relic or nav data to trade in a pinch. Plus you can decorate them quite nicely. They bring the power and functionality really nicely. I really love mine. Not the best for all tasks, like I wouldn't use my corvette as a fishing vessel but for most things it's the best ship.
