Totally up to you. Freighter is a moving base. All of them can be built out to extreme sizes. Class affects range and possibly slots. B-works. I farmed 12 hours over two days for an S-class. Others get it quickly. I guess it comes down to you.

How to Expand the Base Boundary

Note: Save/Reload within the base boundary, if expansion no longer works.
* Max expansion is ±1000u away from your Base Computer in any direction.
* A maximal distance of ±2000u can be covered with the base computer dead centre.

Yes you can, but the upgrades dont really matter...afaik they get some random upgrades, if some at all. There is no reason in upgrading the ships before trading it to them. The stats arent really clear. Only pilot stats really matter and these one arent clear either.

you can view the pilot stats before recruiting them but i witnessed, that there stats can still slightly change after you traded the ships with them...it really is not that clear. I just tried to gamble for the best possible stats. But if it doesnt hit i dont care. Because my best pilot with the best ship does maybe a 10th of my damage. They are only good for preventing the shield generation of enemies.

Underground fauna? I find that looking for them around POI's which tend to carve into terrain usually yields success

But yeh on mountanous planets caves seem to be super rare in my experience, without the poi method it'd probs be impossible to find them there

yes this is true but this only works well on non mountain planets because on mountain planets the caves get intersected wirdly

I think it's because the cave fauna likes to spawn on flatter terrain; the caves on mountanous worlds are just weird vertical formations where you can barely even walk inside...

for cavesfauna there are 3 general rules for spaning. They can only spawn on cave floors this means no walls wich is a problem on mountains plus some caves have outside floor wich also prevents spawning. They need space very tight caves with lots of stuff in them means less spawns but POIs solve both of those problems usualy. Lastly if you have multiple fauna the game prevers to sppawn one over the other. So on mopuntains with multiple fauna the game activly blocks you from finding the second one

it has more to do with how open the space is plus there are cave floors and cave walls with fauna only spawning on floor

now in my experience cave fauna only spawns if you are standing on cave floor

but i recently had cave fauna spawn while i was on the surface

rare underwater is usualy a crab or a large shark

and while the crab can spawn where ever the large shark can only sppawn when the ocean is preaty deep

Me and my friend earlier got like the worst system ever while in survival mode

5 planets, all of them radiated, 2 of them had sentinels, one was pure ice, the other pure fire and brimstone

and the ice one, we had to START on it

One planet was alright at best

you can find Condensed Stellar Ice in some Green systems. They are normally in astroid belts and its a rare encounter. You pulse in from a location like base, frieghter, or station and destroy them and you have a chance of getting 100 Quicksilver, nanites or some random element

less so for smaller chunks of land

this has held so far for the few times i been to majorly oceanic worlds

it does pivot in the ability of being able to see stuff from space
