As I said in #nms-questions Permadeath is a separate mode, you will not see players from other modes. If they have glyphs they can visit the system but won't see your permadeath built bases unless on permadeath themselves

This ladder is from prefabs, I think it's meant to snap to exterior of prefab cubes, but you can build it in free placement mode. Though you have to go by feeling as you can't see where exactly it will be built
