From what I can tell based on my testing, how I drive, and the videos I see, most of the problems are people driving too fast for too long. If you drive a little, pause, drive a little more, the kinetic energy bleeds off enough. The longer you keep moving, it starts a kind of recursive buildup of impacts between waste pieces until they eventually fly out at crazy speeds

I don't know if they'll ever do it, but if they allow you to rebuild abandoned stations or build one in empty systems, I would assume it would be modular and you would be able to place different vendors and such inside. I doubt they would ever mess with inhabited stations
