The landing checks are done with a lot of "probes" and a tolerance check. If the probes miss something or see it but it's within the tolerance, it will land you despite the spike yeah

I believe it acts like that underwater, too, just in reverse. I think it looks for where the sea level is and then pushes the Nautilon away from the surface level. If you're above sea level, it pushes you up

While it isn't wrong to call it glitch building, the main bug we use is really just that some pieces have different snap points than the devs intended, so building with those lets you do half-tile offsets.

You can scan planets from afar, any planets with no fauna or 1 fauna is probably an airless planet with a strange ecosystem and peculiar color

The basics are super easy. You just place a hab, then place a rockhopper on the left side of it. Then you move the hab module. Glitch complete, you've got a half-tile offset. Anything you place on an offset piece is also similarly ofset so you don't have to keep repeating the rockhopper trick. But there's a lot of different tricks with different results. People have gotten very inventive.

so use the corvette for now. its not bad - you can build a great fighter buy buying three C class ships taking the best part you like wing cockpit and engines and buy an S class chip from the ship guy and build it at the reg station

trading for another ship you can get a very high end hauler or a maxed out s class fighter, for the cost of an average corvette

you really made a setback, you will recover and be wiser for it.

yeah its common enough should be around someplace

once you get the scanner room on freighter all planet scanning is done at onc

you can let the game find it for you rather easy - track it from the discovery tab

that is a godsend when you are not feeling liek scanning yourself

idk about jets but you get nine or twleve spaceships and one freighter

hmm maybe, but you can call all your ships down to a planet and jump in each to move things around.. but yeah only see access to one at a time. even in a station you can call another ship with the qiuck menu

The freighter is not considered a spaceship, though it is in space and is a ship.

You can dock them there and it has it's own additional inventory, as well as a place to build a unique kind of modular base on it.
