Timestamp is the milestone where you go to each new system the game wants you to and land at a certain point. It’s normally named ‘rendezvous’ in the expeditions but I believe these ones are timestamps

Gotcha. Your best bet is to go to Timestamp 4 or look in your solar system for planets with rusted metal, or hungering tendrils (infested worlds). Those all have whispering eggs

A key hint is if you have a specific planet you need to go to in your current phase, it’s probably within the current system

So, corrupted sentinels are what you’re looking for

They’re like normal sentinels but they exist on dissonant worlds. You’ll find them around Dissonance Resonators

These Resonators can also drop echo locators, which will lead you to harmonic camps. By completing the riddle at the harmonic camp, you can look for a dissonance spike (which is a sentinel ship)

The plant fauna? That was added in the Origins update, feeding them makes them produce Syrupy Nectar which is used to make Nectar Islands which is the best food for boosting fauna scan payouts. Having a base or settlement on a planet with these creatures is a must.

I have Stasis Device farms so I never really scan creatures to make billions but I always do everything I can to maximize my character in NMS. If my area of space were to ever be discovered by other players I'd immediately have to delete all my farm bases and abandon all settlements and so on. I have prepared a couple hundred Nectar Islands and put in storage. Being prepared to survive while I rebuild everything from ashes is a must. Stuff like what like what am I lacking and what I could do that I am not currently doing is all I obsess about between content updates. So of course I have a multitool kitted for maximum fauna payout with supercharged high end X class scanner modules and I need the best food for the nutrient ingestor to boost it with.

Residual Goop being sold at this abandoned station is 297 and the terminal is regenerating it very fast...at least 1 per second I think...all I have to do is camp this one terminal and buy every five minutes and I will have a stack of 10k relatively fast. I will look at a few more abandoned stations though to see if I can find more. If I can buy from like 3 stations every five minutes that would be killer.

I can now just buy it from the three stations every five minutes of so for a total of just over 800 and have a stack of 10k in just over an hour. These sorts of costs are kinda why farms that were just selling Indium or Cursed Dust just wouldn't cut it. Have to make billions per day, hundreds of millions is not enough. I geared my Stasis Device farms for making 120 per day or ~1.8 billion. It will still take five days to make up the costs of maxing a ship or MT but at least it won't be weeks.

You'd need to have many farms all making a total to 100 stacks of 10k to even reach one billion...it would be less actually because 956 each, not quite the full 1k units...you're not easily brute forcing that lol.

I counted my Stasis Device farm bio-domes, I've got 90 total domes...not all have the full 15 flowers in them but most do...something like 85 are full. But I'll just count all of them as 16 parts(15 flowers plus the dome itself. so I use 1,440 parts on domes across five bases. My three gas farms all use two circuits of 20 extractors each plus the same for oxygen though I only need 34k oxygen for 120 SD but whatever, I'll count the overkill so 160 extractors with wires and resource pipes each amounts to 480 parts there...then 240 storage silos for them with pipes is 480 parts. Then I'm extracting between 22 and 32k of paraffinium, phosphorous, dioxite, and uranium so I'll just count them as 20 extractor single circuits each with wires and pipes 240 parts with I'll just say 110 silos combined so 220 parts for silos. And I also have a cobalt hotspot that only extracts 8k with like 12 refiners so that's like 52 parts with silos and all. So he whole thing is 1,440+480+480+240+220+52=2912. Plus the electromagnetic generators which I don't even know, it's something like 30 for each of the bit four bases with wires so 240 parts with a 5th that only has extractors and no domes...I'll just say 300 total parts for power there. So everything together I estimate to be about 3200 parts...the buildings are just prefab rooms, cube rooms, and corridors and not many at all and 10 refiners(4 large, 6 mediums). with some floor and wall parts but the par counts there are small...so 120 SD per day set of farms combined for under 3,500 parts which is under one sixth of my save's build cap.

Just another time sink for when you've done everything else I feel like. But given how I was able to clear a Permadeath run with just the starting ship and multittool, I don't really see a reason to upgrade anything fully, which is the only functional reason to be ultra rich . I have used nothing but an experimental rifle for a good while now, and it melts even the strongest enemies effortlessly.

The good thing about this is that it means I can prioritize fashion over functionality, since nothing in this game is hard enough to warrant any specialization.

Salvaged data sells for 52k each...it's good for making your first 3-5 mil on a brand new save but not a long term unit making method. It costs 7 to 10 billion units to max out the slots on one S class ship with 60 tech slots and 100 to 120 cargo slots.

Sure and if you did that for all 24 hours in a day without sleep you'd make 240 million...witch is a quarter of a billion...you're not making 7-10 billion that way. My SD farm once built I can harvest most of it once per day and some of the flowers 3x per day to reduce refining time to about 30 minutes or I can harvest everything once per day and refine for ~90 minutes and I make 1.8 billion. Takes upfront time to set up the farms but they vastly reduce the time it takes to make many billion units long term. I've spent over 100 billion maxing ships, not even counting multitools, freighter, etc.

Nanite farms, you can also fly to pirate stations and buy a ton of technology and upgrades and resell them back for nanites, etc

Unfortunately I don't think you can. The storage containers don't seem to have received the same treatment, unless I haven't figured it out yet. I currently don't have a freighter so no idea if it's any different there.

if you are on a freighter you CAN sort the containers

open freighter inv then arrow over to the container there is the sort buttons

As long as you have a transmitter installed you can transfer directly from starship,or freighter.

Hex Cores were the original quicksilver item...in the very first quicksilver mission players could travel through portals to one specific planet where instead of salvaged data you would receive hex cores and you could trade them in for 50 quicksilver each...and you could do this as much as you wanted within a time limit of a few weeks...or until the quest eventually bugged out and started giving salvaged data instead of hex cores on that planet as it happened to me.

Here's the thing, expeditions are limited time events that offer unique rewards, but they are FAR from being a good learning experience for the game as a whole

If you play on PC there are ways to get rewards anytime with mods or save editors. Personally I'd recommend starting a Normal mode save, learning the game as it was intended and later using mods / save editors to get what you missed on

I did one quick run to the center in permadeath for the trophies and player titles in 2019, and I did the permadeath expedition. In grand total I spent less than 20 hours in permadeath but I had no unintentional deaths...the permadeath expedition forced one death before you were allowed to fix your ship and get off the planet. I ended up forcing that death myself after a couple of hours of faffing about trying to avoid it.

It's a big, big project. I spent about a week setting up my stasis device farms and half the time I spent planning and finding solution to getting more flowers than the bio-domes I could have would grow and scoping out base locations where I could reach to 4 or 5 specific hotspots for resources needed. But once you have it it's a permanent thing that will help you through costs of tens of billions. I spent hundreds of billions of units over the years and none of it would have been possible without my stasis device farms.
