I don't think standing has any effect on the part trading system. I have max standing with every race and faction and all of their medals too, and last I tried I still couldn't do any part trading at all.

It doesn't but I figured I don't want all my MTs to only be staves and sentinel MTs so I figured why not have a royal be my scanning MT to get some meme range going along with the unit payout. The range doesn't do anything, of course, but I figured why not...with the game getting updates I figured if the range is ever supported to do anything useful at all I'll have a MT that can do it.

And I figured since my scanning MT won't be very good at combat either way I might as well get an awesome looking royal for it. And like I said, there is an element of preparation for possible future updates too...if HG ever add some actual useful functionality to the range I'll have a MT that I can immediately put to work there.

Nah, you can't detect buildings further than like 1000u away no matter the scan range and you can still see building markers that far even when you have no scan range upgrades.

There is only one role that I can think of that rifles can fulfill...to crash through galactic centers with. It is a good idea to keep one MT that is basically stripped of all optional tech before going through a galactic center...so that MT can be anything at all and will never be good at anything without tech. But for me that's what the Basilisk Crown and Pillar of Titan are for...bad staves that look cool but aren't good for anything beyond their cosmetic value.

I hope they patch this notable save / progress bug very soon -- when I posted this to Steam forum and mentioned in #nms-modding, several confirmed this is a known bug many are facing. Feels risky as is... I did report it with my massive save.

I've been playing since day one in 2016, and my main “1.0 save” file is still my main save, and for a little while I've noticed when I teleport out of a Station to somewhere and then try to teleport back (looking for the Station listed under Stations tab in the Teleporter menu), it's not showing any of the recent Stations I've been in and warped out of. The latest Station listed is in Eissentam, and I'm in Euclid as I've been exclusively for a while now – I've warped out of quite a few stations in Euclid and none are showing at the top of (or anywhere in) the list.

I used a old Expedition save and did a test where I warped out of a Station to a base and then warped to another system and then went to its Station and looked at the Teleporter Station list and there at the top was the one that I came from - as it should have been. This is not updating any longer in my main save.
