I understand the argument that newer players who don't know better might skip over progression that they would otherwise enjoy, but on the flip side there are plenty of players who are discouraged by how grindy the game can be. Giving items is also giving those players oppertunity to skip the grind (and in the long run those players may have otherwise stopped playing)

Yep, only need the latest drive, although you may want to get them all anyway for the adjacency bonuses for other warp technologies, but that's really low priority

oh.... so I only need the Emeril drive and I can remove the Cadmium and Indium ones?

Indium is the better of the three, but unless you really are short on tech slots, I would leave them in even if just to give the better techs more adjacency bonus. There are only 31 freighter tech you could possibly put in there anyway

but if you had to take them out for whatever reason, Cadmium and Emeril are the first ones I would take off

Corvette is much more space limited, I would only put the best drive in unless it is certain there's room for them, the Zenith reactor techs are much better anyway
