You can find bigger clusters, and folks make a base there with refiners to speed up the process of conversion to nanites. (I call those "nanite ranches" since you have to wrangle the deposits as you harvest. Once you harvest, save and reload and the deposits are all back!

(Or travel and return, that works too.)

Positron ejector (Shotgun) is short range, but it can deal large amount of damage on close range, while long range is measly.
Infra-knife (Machinegun) have good dps, but in my experience, probability of it missing is higher than rest
Phase beam is more for supporting, as it steals shield, and can deal ideal damage, but hard to hit
Photon Cannon is probably all rounder, not good enough damage, but it seem to have better accuracy
Cyclotron mainly damage shield and stuns enemy ship, so imo its probably the least powerful
Rockets Does large damage, but long cool down

Just my breakdown base on my experience, so its up to you whether which one you like

in general - a lot of the NMs issues can be countered by using the anomaly to reconnect with each other. even then there was rendering problems when the anomlay was really busy

Sometimes, those are local client glitches and save-and-reload will fix that. Not in all cases, which can be hilarious. And there is a different bug where apparently an intentional "cutout" in the local terrain to accomadate the POI is a bit off, and so parts of the POI are buried underground. Those are persistent, in my experience.

The bar on the top left of your screen is your shield, the pips underneath that is your hull

That's your shields, when it goes down the little starship icons underneath, which are your hull health, will start going down. Once those get to zero, you die.

so, I use PC and a controller - I just learned this week that in the corvette, if I hit Y top button on an empty inventory slot it opens up "ALL" the inventories you have access to. meaning I can stay in pilot seat and get items from the storage container! i just figured this out in the last week.

The only tameable flyers are the ground-effect ones that don't get all that high. They will take creature pellets and are then tameable/milkable etc.

I was chilling inside my corvette at the anomaly when I heard someone firing a phase beam from their ship

I stepped out of my ship to see what was going on and some other player is flying their corvette inside the anomaly and taking shots at me

I had pvp off so no damage was done, but how did they even manage to fly their ship around the anomaly?

They were shooting on purpose but being able to fly around inside the anomaly is a rare bug they fell victim to

sometimes when you go to dock with it your ship won't properly reach the landing pad, you'll get stuck in flight but in the anomaly

you can't even leave

here I was kinda mad that all the ownable freighters I've seen so far were dinky little cargo freighters and then I go to another galaxy through a portal for some ship hunting and I coincidentally save a MASSIVE fucking freighter from a pirate attack

like this thing is bigger than space stations

like I come off the portal planet into what is apparently a pirate system and I'm immediately in combat, so I just kill the hostiles without thinking about it and then it says I saved a civilian freighter at the top so I go
