If you go down to the actual dissonant planet, you can find these things called "dissonance resonators" that sometimes drop Echo Locators. If you use the echo locator it will highlight a harmonics camp that will let you locate as many interceptors on the planet as you want

Just make sure you mark the location of the camp with a save beacon or base or something

Yes, it typically should. Note also that just like regular starships, you should rearrange your tech and modules so related tech is adjacent as it gets an adjacency bonus when you do (and lights up the borders). You should be able to track the improvement in the stats where visible. (Harder to see for secondary weapons unless the base module shows DPS or the like)

As you upgrade class and add ship inventory slots (either through corvette editing or adding inventory at the ship editor or milestone rewards) you will get/reveal more supercharged slots. See the above advice about putting the base tech in those slots and related tech adjacent to it. (For weapon modules, their class matters, you want the strongest modules next to each other, and closest to or on any related supercharged slots). Adjacency bonuses is its own minigame 🤣

At a certain distance from the planet, you should see signs of bodies of water. Try to aim your atmospheric entry for those and fly close to the surface below the clouds, for best results. (Note that you can be fooled by colors making it hard to tell what is water and what is for example blue grass (sigh)... 😉 )

Use a Planetary Chart (Distress Signal) from the Cartographer

Or use your Exocraft scanner (Minotaur works well)

Or just fly low and visually spot abandoned structures

They are usually INSIDE abandoned buildings.

I just found a perfect home system, it has 2 paradise worlds where one is dissonant and the other isn't, and it has a fissured planet

So I was going to have a whole list of things to do in NMS as new year resolutions but I kind of went hard on most things I could think of doing in NMS since October so I don't have much left on my NMS to do list...I still need about 85 hours of play to hit the 8k mark but that's more like resolution for January, not the year lol. I need to do one proper home base that isn't like a massive resource automation hub or a small place marker for easy access point like all my bases so far. And I'll need to find an amazing paradise planet to build it on. I also need to do a large area full of the cylindrical containers on my freighter and at a base as a source of Navigation Data. I've kind of been ignoring navigation data for the longest time because I can scan for most things with exocraft but navigation charts have uses that exocraft scanners can't quite replicate so I should do it, even if I don't plan to use it for much now. Maybe I can also place a ton of barrels to farm nav data can be in like the basement or attic of my home base too, not just the freighter. After that I'll mostly be out of things to do...so I'll be back to babysitting my useless, good for nothing, settlements lol.

Are you going to purple systems? Because those are far far more likely to be abandoned than yellow, green, red, or blue systems. At any rate you should install the economy and conflict scanners in your ship...then you'll see on the galactic map, systems that have a 1 star economy and no information at all about conflict level means abandoned.

I only make new saves if I can use them to benefit my main save and I only play them until I achieve very specific goals then return to main save. I have over 6k hours in my main save...that's where I make all my progress. I only play other saves if there's something like player titles I can't unlock on my main save, or back when we couldn't do expeditions from the main save like now. These days I play a secondary save every few weeks for some weekend missions because I buy new quicksilver items on a second save so my main save doesn't have to start spending any of the the quicksilver I am constantly accumulating on it.

Not that unusual in populated areas...happens often in expeditions if you leave multiplayer on though that's generally a bad idea for expeditions. Outside of that it's really rare....just one galaxy is enormous, people could go anywhere, do anything...but there are also 254 more galaxies besides the starting one.
