Another thing too: make sure to not make your Corvette too big, and it might start to lag your game/obscure your flight view

OOH, the fastest way to get parts is this method, it makes a BIIIG difference. You don't even get out of the ship. I have a corvette specifically for this purpose, small ship lots of engines, just enough habs to link my base storage right behind the cockpit.
