You take much greater damage in PD. Sheild drop on your ship faster. Takes half the hits of damage to blow up your shipping kill you.

Between teleporting to the base, wonky space station interactions and other things I see death in a Corvette as too likely of a scenario in their current state.

There's enough bugs and glitches trying to kill you in permadeath as is. Introducing more is just rolling the dice harder.

You can look it up if you want. It might not be exactly the same as it was but it should be similar enough. Usually for redux runs HG try to make the expedition take less time to complete as well...not that expeditions take much time even the first time around.

Not really, only ones that took a long time were because of forced timegates like community missions you couldn't complete the expedition without. This Beachhead redux had like a one day wait on community mission but the original Beachhead wait was like a week before we could complete the expedition.

Could start by checking the event viewer, it could give some insight on what happened; or monitor the system while playing, wait for the restart, then check logs later. But that's beyond my knowledge and beyond the scope of this channel I'm afraid 😅

That was the first expedition, didn't play the redux but don't remember having any problems with it. I remember doing a lot dumb crap because I chose to. Like I spent a load of time hunting for a multitool and camped for a good S class ship, and upgraded them and so on...I just generally did a lot of crap that had nothing to do with the expedition. Spent like 35 hours but that wasn't because the expedition was long lol.

It’s really really not. The boundary herald is an explorer with massive damage bonus which is impossible on explorers that aren’t the actual boundary herald. The Wraith has higher shields and damage than is possible on other living ships, etc.

I think the asteroid thing is some sort of zone phasing or a way the game handles object loading in certain spots.

Most noticeable when you are mining near a planet and a fleet warps in, then the roids respawn.

I haven't had NMS crash on PS5 in a long time. I think it's been a few updates. But if you play with multiplayer on or in populated areas with a lot of other player bases then you'll probably have more problems. Expedition systems can also get problematic after a while though it's been a few since I last had an issue with an expedition. But it's best to do them with multiplayer completely off and to do them early before people have a chance to build a lot of bases there.

All of it is a mixed bag. Not all of it makes a lot of sense. The main stories are good, the boundary failure logs are amazing imo, and the racial stories from ruins and relics are great too. But there are some that don't go anywhere. There used to exist a really nice side story in the old space stations where sometimes behind the atlas pass locked doors you'd find some terminals and there was this really sweet story about the atlas and its creator but that's gone from the game now with the new space stations.
