Well there are milestones you can reach for the age of ancient artifacts you find. And they vary greatly on value.

When I find those gold ones I usually stick them to the side. And then take them into the next expedition to sell for quick units early on.

Okay backing up. On a space station, creating a corvette there are two consoles. The one to create from and then a STORAGE module right next to it. you can store all your corvette parts THERE
