you can use these resources to charge the protection tech in your exosuit

Here's what I mean. You can see when the base out of range error pops up. And requires you to size it bigger as you move away from the Corvette center.

Changing your settings to mirror permadeath mode but making it so you respawn instead of losing your save on death makes the game more challenging. But not at the risk of losing your save

I generally dislike modding because I think it's risky to your save file and in an ever evolving game where new updates and stuff are being added all the time it becomes an unpredictable where you never really know if or when an issue might be crated because your save has something it's not supposed to. I have over 6000 hours in my main save alone. I would not risk that lol.

Just don't play too much with the plasma launcher...you can still one shot yourself if you soup it up too good even though HG said it now only does 10% of its damage to the player....I have 3 maxed X class modules in a square with it, no SC slots put into it and it can still one shot me with maxed 9x shield modules lol. I won't get rid of the weapon and it's not something I even had accidents with in years but something to be mindful of. That thing does not need the help of SC slots to ruin your day if you're careless.

Go to the galaxy map. Does it say you are in a dissonant system?

If so you best bet may be just finding a harmonic camp and sourcing the sentinel ship that way. The same one will spawn throughout the system. So it will end up leading you to one you are looking for

I wouldn't say I cheesed permadeath to the center but I did rush it. I dug up fossils for a few million units, bought a cheap S class explorer with solid hyperdrive range bonus, I completed some fauna scans for nanites to afford 3 S class hyperdrive modules, and installed the emergency warp drive and 3 system drives(at the time we didn't have Atlantid)...almost got killed by a predator who took me by surprise gathering Indium...one bite took all shields and 1 of 3 health points. But after that I just crafted fuel and did nothing but warp for like 4 hours or something. It was a nice and relaxing trip once I got going.

Harsh. I played A LOT of NMS in the launch version before the foundation update in 2016. I crossed 6 galaxies before the game got its first update and there were no portals, no multiplayer rides, no freighters, ships had no stat bonuses so max warp range was around 1,600ly per jump, and products didn't stack and resources couldn't stack to 9,999 back them...max stacks were 500 in ship and 250 in suit iirc. Crossing galaxies was a different beast back then that most players will never experience.

Depends on how you want to quantify educational. I don't think there's a lot of stuff you can learn from the game and it's not really made for that either, it's made to be a fun, fairly casual game. I guess you can go looking up terms from the game like cadmium to see if they are real things and learn something that way but still..it's not like the game is teaching you that or sticking to any value of realism(which I'm very happy for because "realism" in space games usually means everything sucks, planets are all barren, freezing, rocks, etc.)

Most of what you can do in this game is purely optional and there's a lot to dig into there. Ship slots upgrade to 100+ storage and 60 tech slots at S class and buying slots or obtaining storage expansions for ships gets expensive fast.

they took away adjacency glitching for basic parts but I was able to enable tesseraction in a mod and now can snap at angles, you need to be a bit more precise when snapping but its worth the tradeoff. been trying to figure out the current method for 45 degree walls without adjacency glitching and this works great
