I wouldn't recommend creative mode for a first play either, but if someone is determined, then I have no reason to stop them. Cm is basically the same thing ad duping or exploiting in normal mode. So you can just save the trouble of doing all of that and just unlock everything and get everything free.

If you're able to bypass the parts of the game that you find boring or too much of a grind so that you can spend more time focusing on the things you enjoy doing and actually grinding on you will play longer. It takes about 10 minutes to set up the basic structure you need for 360° building. Once you have it you can build a ship off of it.

the first couple you have to follow the quest, then at some point it tells you to just warp to find the next one, so i spent the rest of that time warping from the same two systems until i unlocked them

you can rush the main story in maybe 8 hrs if you know what you are doing. a New player maybe 30hrs. You basically need to finish the main story line.
You can also hunt for travellers in space stations and ask where they are from and they will point you to their unknown grave, which will get you one glyph.
Some people say this is the fastest way, but it's random luck.

yes. if the SC is on the edge, then there is 3 adjacent slots you won't get to utilize.
if the SC's are clustered, you can supercharge one tech.
if they are spread out, you can manage more balanced SC tech.

You will find that with everything you collect, there is always at least ONE THING that is not ideal, so you have to keep hunting and trading up.

Well, I found at least a work-around. Get the base into the air higher than the (hovering) corvette is tall. It'll put that little teleporter on the ground to get back into the ship. If you go high enough, the ship will hover over THAT no matter how high it is.

if you have a TP, the ship spawns around it. Otherwise it spawns around the BC. If these are far enough from your building, you should be ok.
It sucks to have to put the TP far away though.

So if the main release you needed 6, you may only need 3 of something in the redux

the reason it works the way it does is because it also works with cave systems, so they can detect if the area is enclosed or not but they treat bases the same way as caves, so they just have some limit. A device would have to be indoors to work. Could be like a room sized zone that is protects as well, not like the entire base. Though a dome base would be pretty cool too. With a big energy shield.
