Hey all, so I'm at the end of the In Stellar Multitudes quest. FIrst time doing it, so I'll mark the rest as spoiler for anyone who hasn't done that questline yet:
||So bottom line: The system I got kinda sucks. I asked for paradise planet, and there is one moon, but It's hardly a paradise... It's cloudy all the time and has superheated rainstorms. On top of that, the rest of the planets in the system are pretty awful. Did I just get a really crappy roll? Don't supose there's a way I can re-roll instead of accepting this one? (Haven't done the final step to bind the system yet)||

yes and no. some things are hard coded and can be filtered for like types of lush planets of types of animal, but some stuff like weather and sentinel activity are not so you can't search for the perfect planet it's still a crapshoot

You can make multiple saves. Don't let this stall you. I'd go normal, get the gist of the game, and if it looked too easy -- start a new one on survival.

There's a new expedition, breached to play. Also I'd recommend trying to build up a huge base/corvette, finish all the premade/side missions, or 100% all the achievements

Survival/Permadeath are both very diff. playstyle from the main game

You can just start a normal mode game and most difficulty settings can be customized after the fact, on the fly. Besides stack sizes, permadeath and abandoned mode. Not sure there is anything else you can't tweak.

yes, if you reload, then the ship already belongs to you and its living in the nether, instead of still sitting at the original location. That location doesn't save or restore. The ship just comes out of your pocket.
