Unless of course you input coordinates you find in r/nmscoordinateexhange in which case you will meet someone else

if its a system which coords are public (lets say a cool planet or a system that has a ship people would go to get it), its possible you find people there, specially if the coords are recent or super popular.

In uncharted territories its REALLY unlikely you find someone there by random, you could be 1 jump away and i would never know because i decided to jump 5 systems ahead in my journey

There are a few places in-game where you can't change terrain editing mode, similar to how you can't change multitool weapon mode in similar locations. For example, indoors in POIs or prefabs in bases, as I recall. You have to step outdoors to make the change, then can go back indoors and the change will persist. Could it be something like that?

Hmm, but if so, restarting would not change the problem, unless that also moved you from an interior to outside.

I have now found the most annoying part of this game

The fact that I found a terrorsphere which has huge underground chasms large enough to fit my corvette. And when i try to land, or hover in place to step out and look, it phases through the ground and puts me on the surface.

One problem with cave fauna that it is , like water fauna, spawn by location. You have to be underwater\underground for them to spawn. Flying and ground fauna is by proximity. There is a limit how many species can spawn at same time. So if a cave is very close to surface, you see many fliers and ground critters and you can't find a common or uncommon underground one as their slots are filled by these above. But rare one would spawn.

i've seen weird rare stuff - such as a mod, affecting only radeon gpu users, where sometimes a player gets pushed out of the station. why does that happen to only radeon users, but not nvidia users? no one truly knows. just goes to show, there can be rare edge cases that dont necessarily make a whole lot of sense.
