Depends on how the game's behaving in your system.
The different modes are about different original resolutions from which the game is then upscaled. Performance is the lowest resolution, ultra quality is the highest. Find the balance between good FPS and quality of image. 🙂

FriendlyFire can explain better, but in a gist: the save-file has a "limit" on how much terrain edits it can store. Once you hit that, older terrain changes are "forgotten"; that's more-or-less how terrain regenerates.

Yeah it's easy to setup and works fine. Steam works the same way though, so same answer. You just need to make sure you turn off cloud backups so it doesn't "sync" and delete your local copy

Be careful. Steam has been known to delete your local saves because it feels like it needs to "update" them. Make a copy before messing with any cloud save settings

I do. I keep Steam cloud sync OFF normally, but when I travel and want to game on the Macbook Air, I backup my local save and then enable cloud sync.

I backup my save manually about once a week except for times like now with lots of Experimental drops (I am on Exp) - I backup before most incoming patches in this mode.

Sentinel capital ships come in 3 sizes- sentinel, battleship and dreadnought.
there is only 1 type of pirate dreadnaught, just called pirate dreadnaught. it looks nothing like an ISD, whether Imperial era, republic era or otherwise
