Some fish are for scanning, some for catching - they aren't really the same things. I just scanned this one. I did not fish to see if I can catch it. You need to just scan it for a Wonder Projector display - you need not catch it.

Tip if you run out of storage, and are like me forgetfull, find extra ships in game, rename them to things like "food" , or "Minerals" You will still have to summon them to access their inventory - which is usually free to summon on space stations

buying ships to salvage them is never usually beneficial. Either use navigation data to get emergency signals from the cartographer, and just keep collecting ships from the distress signals, or go to a dissonant planet and go interceptor hunting

Just curious but what do you all use your ship varieties for? Like right now I have a few ships but have no cause to use them because my Fighter seems to fit all my uses and I now have a Corvette. Is it just personal preference or do you all have ships tuned for different uses?

there's a cap for certain tools, but yes. Very expensive. Do quests from the space stations

The quests you get from the space stations can give you expansion slots, those'll let you up the slot count. Just bear in mind your starter tool isn't good for much, so try to get a new one

I really recommend working up the factions and eventually you’ll get missions with the chance of expansion module rewards

Definitely, you can put storage crates on them and if you get the matter beam upgrade, you can literally access your whole inventory from the whole system when the freighter is in the same system as you.
