Just like how you can't get a freighter, because there's no NPCs in abandoned mode, you can't make a corvette, because with no NPCs that leaves the only space stations available being the abandoned stations that were not updated to include stations for corvette building. You also cannot modify, or create a starship afaik in abandoned mode.

I never saw the point of static bases seeing as there’s so much to explore in NMS. But now with Corvettes it has really changed how we can play in that respect. We now have, to a certain extent, mobile bases.

Most likely. I did a plethora of tests, and since my build includes outdoor decking, I was able to measure using the two blue lights that exist in both "fields" to confirm that the blockages perfectly match the exterior shell mesh of the freighter.

For whatever reason if you rotate a part and remove it, it goes into your inventory that way and nothing can stack
