Scrapping sentinel ships is EXTREMELY profitable. Just turn off the sentinels on the planet, farm as many echolocators as you can find, and scrap everything. 18-40mil units per ship. Obtaining them is free, so you don't have to invest to get it.

you can also raid freighters in pirate systems to get free contraband and then teleport to a base in a normal system to sell it when your inventory gets full

depends on your weapons, and your strategy. the warping back and forth is certainly a bit slow and uses resources, but otherwise I shred the engines and anti-freighter cannons decently quick

Hey, I wanted to know, how does it work when you start an Expedition from an existing save? Do you still keep your ships/freighter/inventory upgrades/inventory slots/known recipes/units/nanites? Do those get reset temporarily until you finish the expedition? If it's the latter, how exactly do you get them back? Like, for instance, if I would get three new ships in an expeditions, would they still be added if my starting save has already maxed-out the amount of ships I can own? How about if I get another freighter in the expedition?

In the nexus. There is a terminal sort of behind it on the right. In the terminal you can “clone” multi tool, and ship if you want to take one. You could also take a set inventory. All you have to do is remember to take out whatever you want to bring with you when you’re done. Same place in the nexus. Or you can just start a whole new save. That’s what I usually do. Rewards are available across all saves.
