How’re salvaged ships to use as a new player since it needs radiant shards? Do you find it the same or more of a challenge?

i personally find it easier, since all i really need to keep track of is how many shards do i have available

Radiant shards are pretty easy to collect, and they last long as fuel in interceptors (especially when upgraded). As for me, it was better to collect a few stacks of them and don't worry for a pretty long time, than it was to collect and store different types of fuels for every subsystem

Then up the stairs you will see an area where you can build your freighter base, that's where you can add stuff like teleporter, frigate terminals(required to send frigates on missions), and bunch of other stuff

Also, you can call your freighter anywhere you are for free as long as it has a sufficient drive, even across galaxies

I always warp my freighter into orbit when I’m building a new base. It makes things so much easier when all of your resources are just easily available without having to shuffle them around.

I was told it's a bug. It's the reason that light fissures are emitting black instead of yellow/green like they should. Hexplate bushes are suppose to have red stems, but they are black making them extremely hard to find.

Yeah, these come in real handy for upgrading ships. It's actually cheaper to upgrade storage by buying and salvaging A and S class ships for the storage upgrades. Upgrading storage is expensive as hell.

If you have 4 SC slots in close proximity, you can upgrade one of the ship's systems to a great amount. Guns, for example, or hyperdrive.

Well, it means you can put more of the upgrades for that particular system into SC slots.

The boxes with the red arrows are the SC slots. With this setup, I was able to upgrade the hyperdrive to a range of over 2000 light years. WIth better upgrades, it will be better. If the 4th SC slot had been closer, I might have been able to get closer to 3000ly range.

You want to put like upgrades together to get the adjacency bonus.

If I can find some better hyperdrive upgrades, I can get my freighter close to 6000 light year range. It's just a min/max thing. The difference between 5600 ly and 6000 ly isn't necessary, but it would be fun to see it.

Enough to survive. I generally only have two weapon systems on any ship. My main gun of choice is the Infra-Knife, with missiles as the secondary. Some folks like the Positron Ejector, it's the Shotgun for starships.
