What we know is that players who changed their in-game name, the sticky customization would change. But I didn't have that as an option on Xbox given I wasn't willing to lose my RedHotTrouble gamertag and it costs $ to change your GT. Not worth it

Every expo I started, it'd always give me the same customization. That's not how things work in NMS when you create a new save, in any game mode, including expos

In expos, you're stuck with that customization for a long while before you can get to a space station or space anomaly to change it

And I mostly play in 3rd person view cuz I enjoy seeing my character -- just not the McGek

Hmmm I'm doubtful in Normal mode it'd differ. I haven't created a new Normal game mode save in a looong while. I can test it to confirm. HG has a number of presets for the character customization that's generated, one of which is this McGek.
