What you see when you go fishing, those aren’t really even fish per se, they aren’t part of the actual fish “models” that are in water if you wanted to think of them in that way. They only show up when you activate your MT rod and show some preset animations

If you have somebody as a friend on your platform, or have added somebody's No Man's Sky Friend Code and they have added yours, you can join them from this menu

Game features ambient multiplayer, unless you turn off MP in settings, your save will be always ready to join / form a MP session

You can also encounter people that somehow reach the same star system as you but that is very rare unless you intentionally do so, and also the Space Anomaly will always be full of players when you have access to MP

You will always be able to earn achievements regardless of your difficulty options

Besides of course the Survival achievement, which requires you to never go below the Survival preset (and will warn you when you try to do so)
