That is the Runic Lens and Hijacked Laser. The Runic Lens is found on Atlantid Multi-Tools and the Atlas Sceptre, while the Hijacked Laser is found only on Sentinel Multi-Tools. It is normally impossible to put the Hijacked Laser on any other type of Multi-Tool (Same with the Runic Lens)

Explorers have more jump range and fuel efficiency, fighters have more damage, etc

If you are earlygame you can try to use their buffs, but if you're mid or lategame then it doesnt really matter, you can just get a ship for looks and be fine

Later in, you can salvage NPC ships and use their parts to build your own custom design as well
