you're talking about starship tiers, which is the max number of the slots the ships can initially spawn with given their parts

that doesn't affect the limits on how many slots ships can have once upgraded

for all ships its 60 tech, the cargo varies between ship types, some go to 100, some to 120

I looked at the wiki and it was confusing with it saying fighters can have 100 but then listing maxes way lower. Makes sense that those are the maximum initial spawn slots.

I had a similar issue. Found a Settlement, had to go do something else. Came back to the coords, and the nav marker for it was there, but it was just an open space. I left the planet and flew back and it rendered in properly. Try a reload or fly away and come back, it might resolve itself.

Default Base limit is 300u, but it is also 50u from any part of the base. You can "leapfrog" by moving to the edge of the limit and building something outside the limit in the right direction. Then, move past the new part, but within 50u, and build something else as far as you can toward the goal. Eventually you can reach up to 1000u from where you started the base

Each station is one of the 3. Go to a different station for Explorers or Mercenaries.

I was MErcs for the first 4-5 stations I hit (or more). Did not even know the others existed until I finally hit a different one

Also all 18 of my features are now positives at all my settlements

They are, but the mechanics of them are kinda weak. Would be nice if they tweaked the physics and tactics a bit, so it's not constant turn turn turn turn turn turn turn in the same direction until you catch up to the enemy that is circling you, then shoot them.

Fully upgrade your scanner and scan all fauna on a planet -- when you do, you get 250 nanites for each fauna. So, for 10 fauna scanned on a planet, that's 2,500 nanites. It doesn't take long. Also processing fungal mould is a good route in.
