For me it was more resenting the devs for dangling them in front of the faces of anyone who didn’t get them. If you’re running a live service style game you don’t visually keep time-limited stuff around after the time limit is up

they're "build numbers" per se. they represent a different build. the save number (in parenthesis) helps gauge better if the platforms' saves are cross-play compatible. usually just knowing the version number --i.e., 5.7.1 is enough to know if a player has the latest update on said platform. we'll likely move the "build numbers" to a different command or pin, used for troubleshooting specifically. that may help reduce confusion

i've tried so many times to find a settlement on this moon, but the charts only ever take me to a settlement on only 2 of the 5 planets

In my (limited) experience moons aren't quite reliable for finding settlements. Normal planets are usually ok.

There’s another way to search for settlements, but it requires using a save that hasn’t followed the initial settlement questline to the point where it locks onto a specific settlement.

The only way is to test to see what it is but I think it's the motherboard and I am ti lazy to replace it lol

Unless you happen to find one in the wild while exploring... don't think so. But you can use the chart on a specific planet, which will (generally) point you to a settlement in the planet of your choice

Tbh I'm that intricately familiar with settlement locating mechanics

Most of the time I would find a pretty planet amd get a settlement on it purely to have a teleportation point

My current main save didnt even had a settlement before beacon update

I was just ignoring them

Using quest reset on the initial settlement quest while landed on a planet has a near-perfect rate of finding a settlement on said planet - far more effective than charts, but as I said, it requires a save that hasn’t begun never advanced the quest to the point where it locks onto to a specific settlement. (Happens when you get too close to targeted settlement on foot)

Once you approach the “first” settlement the quest locates on foot, the quest locks on to it - once it does, quest reset will only ever locate the same settlement in each system. So the trick is to stay in ship a record planetary coords, if you wish to retain the ability to scout settlements in perpetuity on a save.

That also meant this border wasnt regular, but shaped like the terrain

Relics update raised it to make bases at the surface of waterworlds where depth can go to 1500u possible

Depth of 1500u would mean that the surface would be above that limit

Idk where that limit is now but I was able to build up to the very edge of atmosphere without having parts disappear

You could try to build a teleporter where parts disappeared, in the past teleporting to the base would force parts around the teleporter to render

If they render it might mean there is something funky with the altitude limit

If not then I'm not sure what can cause specific parts to not render

Just checked. Turns out. They in fact didn't correct the texture issues

What's interesting though is, whenever you glitch color any base part in the current version, it will show the colors you wish it to have, while the glitched colored base parts placed before Beacon update show wrong colors
