The construction limit is the limit on how many pieces you can place down across the universe, it includes all bases (including freighter base) as well as placed objects that you've left behind I believe too

If on PC, you could save-edit a base you haven't visited in a while to another save to make space on your main save

another downside of having a save at parts limit is that it wont let you download other player bases, because the parts limit goes both ways

but the actual limit save file wide for parts is 20k

this means that a player who has built 16k parts, can only download player bases with up to 4k with that save

they're good ships. thing is, it will be totally different than what you're used to: you cant buy upgrades in space stations, you can't upgrade ship slots with units even if you have them, you can't use your favorite ship techs that you've come to favorite.

Not very, they aren't common but aren't rare, look for systems that have that singular enlarged planet hologram on the galaxy map that say Dissonant instead of Gas Giant

They can also have 3 or more moons, non-gas giants can have 1-5 moons whereas gas giants always have 5 moons
