You don't need to make a new save though to begin expeditions, you can start them from the Expedition Terminus aboard the Space Anomaly within an existing save (when one is active)

When core jumping, use your freighter instead, and have a busted ship be your primary when you jump through on the freighter.

The freighter tech won't bust, and you won't have to repair anything on your actual main ship because you switched it to a busted ship. (This trick also works with a busted multi-tool swapped for your actual primary, so that you don't have to fix anything at all.)

I recently started playing this game from nostalgia and so far I'm having a blast.

Like i can just tell a lot of work went into programming and optimization.
You can just enter an atmosphere of a planet without any loading screens, how cool is that?
I also like the detailed, smooth camera work (When interacting with terminals you can move your camera slightly which is a nice detail).
