Storage containers? The base part is just a way to access storage, the inventory is player specific. It can be handy as if you have storage rooms on your freighter you can access your hoard everywhere where you can bring your freighter

You can have storage containers/rooms 0-9, 50 slots each, that gives you 500 slots total. If you pick up everything you see you can fill them up, but with mnimum of inventory manegement you should be good.

Also if you have matter beam installed on your freighter and that freighter is in the system resources will be automatically pulled from storage when you build or craft. As you can bring your freighter pretty much everywhere it's awsome thing to have imo
