I don't remember it being that hard on permadeath in an outlaw system, at least with knowing to get max upgrades on a fighter beforehand

So in my expedition I got a dreadnought resuce and tried over and over until I finally got it. But it was consistently a dreadnought. This one that I have now is just pirates, is there a way to turn that into a dreadnought if I retry or will it always just be pirates?

Now I'm back on my main save and got a pirate ship, not dreadnought, rescue. I'm asking if it will always be ordinary ships when I restart or if I can force it to spawn a dreadnought (by going to a specific galaxy or something)

I want a dreadnought again but couldn't keep it outside my expedition.

for a dreadnought you have to play for 3 hours, and do 5 warps with one ship, then be in a outlaw system and it will spawn, my first pirate ship was one with a circle on the front

Me and my friend have been having problems being unable to download any base data to teleport to them, what could be causing this?

Usually that only happens when you're not in the same system as the base you're trying to teleport to, especially so when trying to teleport to bases of players alongside you in the Space Anomaly and the player who owns that base has left the anomaly

We’re like a thousand meters away from eachother but still won’t let us

It also happens a lot when the base hasn't been uploaded ever, so make sure to do that at your base computer

Uploaded bases load almost instantly for others, make sure to upload them once again after making changes to the base for those changes to show up too

Yes, but they take much longer to load as they have to be sent directly through P2P connection

Versus HG's discovery services when they're uploaded which are more prepared for such things

Uploaded bases often load before you even reach them, while unuploaded ones will only really start loading when you get close, very often they'll slowly materialize around you while you see the owner floating in their imaginary structures

i would not play PD. the game has killed my survival character a number of times (Randomly falling out my freighter or into terrain mostly)

The only way I’d play pd is survival with the exact same settings as a pd save except for the pd part, so if I die from a bug I can keep going (pretty much the only reasonable way to do it on switch)

Returning player here with 3 years of updates to catch up on, but love it so far! What's everyone's thought on being able to build quite high end ships early on into a save? I remember finding and being able to afford a decent looking S-Class ship used to be a hassle, it's easy now, quite cheap when finding a system with decent crashed ship types to salvage and with no downside as far as I can tell, except Nanites cost and reduced trade value.

honestly while it's cool to have a custom s-class fighter not even 20h in, I feel like I had a different connection to my ship on my other save. It's great for accessibility though and one can always opt to ignore the feature, guess my current ship will be more of a "trusted companion" rather than a "hard earned achievement"

Well, I don't think they were much different from geck. But you can deduce it from their helmet in nexus. Their eyes were mostly to look at sides so they had predator as living being without tech.
But as creature and warriors they were terrifying since they defeated a whole hive mind
