Slap some S class technology on it and it will become very powerful no matter what it is

I get that the galaxy is about exploration but when I’m following a mission and it says check the galaxy map there’s literally no indication of where to go. Even in the “route” setting it doesn’t highlight any paths and I can’t find a symbol floating about. That’s unreasonable when I’m expected to do something specific.
