Once you get a freighter, there’s places on board you can get harvest carbon from the walls in certain rooms
Also, you can install standing planters, and they will give you carbon too

Certain planets will have types of flora that yield lots of carbon, like tons of it

Survival settings are great except for the stack limit and technology damage. I disabled/decreased those two at first and later set combat settings to normal aswell since it‘s just annoying pirate spam otherwise and way too many planets with aggro sentis
