There are some stat differences which might be relevant when starting out, but in general most ships can do most things

The only caveat I might throw out there is that if you do a lot of dogfighting then you might want a ship that is good at it, or at least has good shields

Sentinels can push out a lot of damage and youll want to be kinda beefy before you aggro those on purpose

Exocraft (vehicles) are obtained when you purchase the blueprint for the exocraft's respective geobay from the anomaly.

Hey so what’s a good goal for planetary exploration? I wanna land, drive the colossus around. Scan and explore. But it’s a huge universe and I’m working my way towards the center.

I like to have goals in mind and you all have tons more experience than I do.

The Radar Power Resonator is the tech that locates Monoliths, to use it you must search for alien structures via the quick menu while inside the exocraft

The ship don't show on your visor until you get the scanner & you get the seal a different way you gotta interact with the thing outside the buildings

because of chart mechanics, monolith could even be the first POI marked - but it might not, because as mentioned, alien chart can mark 3 diff poi types: monolith, ruin/plaque

I can summon freighter, ships and exocrafts. But refreshing gear or, in this case, setting scanner to alien structures, when I press “A” it just closes the menu

Like I can’t refuel pulse drive in orbit (which happened once and it’s a nightmare. Flying at normal speed for 15 minutes). I can’t reload my shield protection, etc etc.

I haven’t fallen below 85% pulse drive since then hahaha

So any lush world with the regular prefixes has either storms, high sentinel activity, or both/worse

The paradise planet I found day 1 and moved to on day 2 turned out to be literally perfect. No sentinels. Nothing that can really hurt you at all. I fell asleep at my desk, outside my front door in game, for hours. Character perfectly fine.

Hi guys, just wondering. After about 100 hours in my game i got to a point it seems i've saw it all the game may offer as mechanics. I have money that i have no use for, killing any gridding need, i have great ships, and despite not got into ending the main missions, it feels boring atm. Show wonders to atlas all the time is bah. I understand this game lacks a economy challenge (as devs intented to), so no maintenance, no losses to property or stocks in base attacks from sentinels, nothing that holds money to pile to trash. I am not a fan of cosmetics per se, so it is not fun to me to hang around just to get a shiny armor while i melt basically all enemies without sweat. Even big capital ships seems useless just because it gets to be just a status symbol but their abilities are not needed for nothing now, progression wise. There are mods or something i could aim, besides vanities that i could aspire and get me going on the game? namely making economy well harder, like a economic sim? Or make me to really work to keep my wealth?

idk u could play survival or permadeath if u didnt yet, complete all quests, make some goals like a stasis device farm for example. personally i just do random stuff like made up goals or gameplay parts i find fun, especially checking out planets and taking photos of interesting stuff of views or building bases. smth unusual i got into recently was exocraft parkour courses. but yea u gotta make ur own challenge or stuff to do i guess

being a starship captain doesn't mean boom boom pew pew every day. Some of it might not be exciting.. but its part of fleet success!

for example, you get a capital ship. But by the time you have more storage in exosuit than in the freighter, you don't need prodution because you don't have where to spend the money. I don't know, it is cool to make other things, but build farms are shallow compared with satisfactory for instance. Construction wise is shallow compared to minecraft (modded obviously). If economy was a "little" more like X series (which is far from perfect) would already be awsome. Some that could mess your money and property. Lore is here, just miss a economic survival setting or a mod that do it. Sentinels could damage and destroy your bases if they weren't properly maintained, ships could be permanently destroyed (frigates in missions) freighters in dreadnaught fights (for instance). You could keep knowledge, but would make you to have to climb again or really fight to keep it. Game does not need more depth, just makes you go back sometimes to recover and keep interest, making all assets worth while. May be just me, i am not ranting, just upset because it feels that with a little twist, it could be as ilimited as the universe that was created...

Keyboard is excellent for the binding you can do, I just don't like the feel of movement. There are plenty that swear by the mouse tethering though

Yeah it does feel like no work, but you do need to wait for the stock to refresh if you're using the same few trade posts. So you have to wait a few hours before it's ready again. In that case I feel there is a balance of sorts. But of course, if it doesn't feel right to you don't do it

I wouldn't call it that one exploit though, it's using game mechanics normally just, in a lazy way lol

Yeah

In Tethered, you're given a "control circle" that, when moved slightly, aims your guns, but when moved a larger amount, will move your ship in the desired direction with increasing rates as you move the circle further from the center

ah, so I see there's no way to mine carbon... buuuuut you can react it with oxygen to get a result that is carbon positive. Letting you effectively convert oxygen (which you can mine) into carbon in a fairly automatic way
