I have some bad news. I couldn't afford End of the Nut, so I went outside, grabbed my freighter to grab some valuables to sell, then went back.

I stayed up until 2am flying between the station and a trading post trying to get him to spawn in again. All the other ship designs of the system I saw like a dozen times. But this one C-Class shuttle I wanted just for a funny joke never showed up.

Someday I'll work on my very first base again. I spawned on a planet with rings, and went immediately to the first planet I saw. It had raised needles (the landform) and one was perfectly shaped like a D. Funny joke.

Turns out those two planets were tidally locked. And looking up from that spot, was the planet I spawned on with the rings around it. Like a donut.

There is an inner edge (called the core edge) beyond which warping toward the core takes you to the core. I think there are 12 core edge systems (could be wrong about the number, especially in modern times) near the core. AFAIK there is no outer edge definition...

As I recall, a few of the core edge systems in Euclid are special in that you can also select Likholu (the otherwise phantom system at the core not otherwise reachable except by glitching in the game). It may be true for the other galaxies too, but not all of the core edge systems have that property. And this was from several releases ago... (I think Origins added a Teleporter destination entry for Likholu in a new bug since fixed, which certainly raised its awareness among the players.)

I feel the advantages of having a base versus having "the perfect base" are mostly a matter of taste. Getting a base up and running provides you with so much other stuff that getting one of any kind, even if its just a bunch of storage units and exo craft scattered around a teleporter, IMHO.

Tricks revolve around realizing that there are patterns in the different regions of space. When you are on your galaxy map, you'll find that the systems have "more data if you press x" and doing that will tell you the REGION name (so, somethign like "the sea of RODERBACK") -- within this region (250 to 700 systems) there will be predicatable patterns. So if you find, for example, a GEK system with ALMOST the right colors, then keep looking at GEK systems in that region.

Sentinel Interceptors are leagues more complex than the standard ship types, so do not expect them to ever come to the Starship Fabrication system, unless they have 5 or 6 parts each, or having like 200 different wings and 50 cockpits

Does anybody else categorize all the systems and planets they find? Ive got a big web of documents in Obsidian with information on all the systems, planets, and regions ive discovered and i name my systems in a specific way that makes it easy for categorization and puts info in the names

IMO kitting new ships out is fun enough, my best ship is that one from the "sentinel/livingship hybrid glitch" that people call "Harmonic Living Ships" which confuses new players into thinking they're more than glitch jank

also it's black and blue which is my colors so I felt it call to me through the screen
