It is 400 - people have tested. But there's also bugs once you pass 318 (including one freighter nad one settlement) where you end up with vanishing base icons on the galaxy map and crashes in multiplayer when opeing the map.

So, behave like it's 300 and you'll be fine.

if you found diggable gold, you will also find hotspot gold

If you happen to strike a trade ship when fighting against pirates without them having the pirate dreadnought, you can usually still go inside the friendly freighter and get rewards even if you have wanted level and sentinels are chasing you, but you gotta find the entrance without the marker.

I'm using Portals to shortcut to near the center, then from a core edge going to the center. Lather, rinse repeat. Since we can't build two bases in each galaxy (limit of 399 bases with 255 reachable galaxies via core warp) I'm building an Arrival base where I start in every odd numbered galaxy, and skip that in even numbered, and then always build a Departure base in a core edge world before I warp to the next galaxy.

Yea, I learned to backup my save regularly when I got out of my ship at an outlaw station and BOTH save points saved my character in the ceiling of the station. I had to use a save editor to save my file from being wrecked

My biggest gripe with permadeath has to be getting di-hydrogen stacks. Even when I buy jellies and refine them every 8 jellies I have to empty refiner and to make frigate fuel in a decent stack you need like 5+ stacks of di-hydrogen

I was doing a lot of sentinel ship salvage that exped

I ran out and grabbed my non permadeath 2x2 sentinel rifle that I had and brought it to permadeath to make sure the wave 5 sentinels were a cakewalk

Granted you take a LOT more damage in permadeath and have to constantly refill shields so you don't break modules

When you can melt a walker in 4-6 seconds with a broken MT it is a lot better

You can trigger pirate dreadnought battles in outlaw systems every time you warp there in the right system. Depends it's reset rate, but you can find one that spawns a battle every time

Correct: 1 tier economy chances are 0.1% S-class, 2 tier economy 1%, and 3 tier economy 2%. I think the RNG tables are pinned in #nms-modding . Note though that "0" in the tables is "0.1" in practice.

yeah, before starting expedition, you load your items & packaged tech, that's only able to happen once, but after completing expediton, getting things back to primary save (out of expedition) can be done multiple times

Actually, if you go to the space station's mission desk, and take some of the photograph missions, those usually send you to systems with lush planets in them. Not always, but often enough.

AND you get reputation building and rewards from doing those. SO win win
