Nope just fly under the shields from the back destroy the engines so they can't hyper jump then go up top to the guns and they immediately surrender after the engines and guns are gone

Closer shield channel first, slow flight so I also take out the power cores; then pull out of the trench to swat the missile wave, then run the other shield trench the same as the first and finish off with destroying the dreadnaught.
