Yes, but oxygen plants are scarce and there isn't any dangerous flora.
Combined with the doubled(?) movement cost, the fact there isn't an easy source of carbon (you have to either mine rocks with carbon secondary or refine condensed carbon from the crystals), and the fact I've just started this file, I actually needed to plan my moves.
