I found that after worlds part 2 all my saves stated UPGRADE REQUIRED after joining all of them solo I could then join my partner

it essentially needs to upgrade your save to all the new planets and biomes whatnot

🚨 PSA🚨 Everyone make sure to always read all patch notes. Hidden deep in the patch notes of 5.6 there is this: ||"An organic version of the Teleport Receiver has been added for use in living starships" so I loaded back in the game and opened a psychonic egg...the first thing that pops up is a living ship tech called "Grasping Tendrils" so I install it and sure enough it is a living ship version of the teleport receiver. Be sure to not miss out on this and upgrade all of your living ships with it. My main living ship right now is The Wraith but I have my previous living ship in cold storage so I briefly pulled it out of cold storage to make sure it also gets Grasping tendrils.||

Starbirth takes irl time, and Settlers is a permanent quest, if you're at the stage of the Purge, 16 warps will cause it to activate, so trying to complete other quests would also progress that one

I guess I'm a bit paranoid because I keep reading NMS Resources to not miss anything from the missions

The changes to fossils seems bad for value. Previously the worst bones you could get were around 70k units but you could find epic worth at least 300k and legendaries worth up to around 2 million units. But now all individual fossils are worth a flat 72k and combining five is worth between 500k and 700k from what I've seen...but that isn't much of a profit margin when considering 5x72k is 360k units so selling it for around 600k on average is only a profit margin of under 250k. You can make some awesome base decorations but lame for making units and fossils used to be great for making the first few mils on a new save to give you the buying power to run trade routes.

I mean, perhaps if the planets had mixed terrain and huge mountains were a part of it... but they are just unnavigable messes.
All they do is highlight how simplistic and repetative the terrain generation is

the planet i was on wasnt a gas giant but it started out at a balmy 277 deg F and when the wall of flame storms come it heats up to 500+
