you can locate portals and enter the first glyph 12 times to get within 5k ly of core

Easiest way

The same address in another galaxy takes you to another planet in that galaxy (if valid). Portals don't connect between galaxies. But Teleporters do: if you have a base or the last 50 stations you visited include more than one galaxy, you can easily get back.

Part of the reason probably is that the new gen seem to have wider caves. OG caves are mostly tubes or ground level floor that prevent spawn of underground fauna

A: Despite what its objective says, no. The Purge simply requires the player to warp 16 times in any direction, to any system. Please wait for the mission to acknowledge progress on HUD before warping out again. Each warp teaches 1 portal glyph, if the player hasn't learned any yet.

❗ Warning: After the 16th warp, it is recommended to take a moment to store installed tech/modules on exosuit, active ship and multit-tool tech inventories (or swap to secondary ship and multi-tool you don't care about, only do it for exosuit).

Note: If the player hasn't completed The Atlas Path yet in this save, it is suggested to do so now, since The Purge will keep registering progress even if it's not the selected mission.

And the upgrades you get for your multi tool and exosuit and ship and whatnot you can just store the technology after the expedition and put it in for your main save (and everything else like currency and whatnot will be transferred over from Expedition to your main, but you also gotta put the resources and stuff you got on the Expedition play through into the storage before transferring over IF you want. If not they all convert to units and or nanites I think

This does not happen if you start a new save, always mention that.

You need to convert the main save to the expedition save from the kiosk at the space anomaly. Only then can you transfer items back and forth, switch saves back and forth mid expedition, pause the expedition to play on your main until you want to then go back to playing the expedition.

Fighter has the smallest max inventory at 100 slots
