Before endurance your crew wouldn't walk around the freighter, crops on freighters did not exist iirc and you couldn't build in the exterior of a freighter. They added Living Frigates in that update also. Its where the Stellar Extractors, hanger teleportation and the rich asteroids were added as well, plus they added teleporting to damaged frigates, the Planetary Probe, and some other stuff.
