Hello! I have two questions as a new player to NMS that I was hoping to get a bit of insight in to.

1. does the build limit matter? I’ve heard you can only place 16000 pieces but I was wondering if that actually matters given it seems like a huge number and I just plan on making one big base.

2. The game is beautiful and each planet has its own charm and intrigue, but is there a point to exploring? Like looking for rare resources, rare drops, or is every planet the same in terms of why you go there?

1. do you have new beginnings on mission Log? then you can't go back. it doesn't really matter, you can goto other galaxies just as easily: have you seen the anomaly teleporter?

1. most players never have any problems with it, but yes, 16k pieces per save, 3k parts for uploaded bases, glitch building techniques can reduce nr of parts needed
2. exploring is eventually going to be about finding the nicest combos

Usually you'll get a new expedition within a couple of weeks of the end of the previous one. So I'd say in 6 or 7 weeks, which would be about 11 weeks from WPII release

As someone who has migraines, and much lesser extent motion sickness, and just overall as a “highly sensitive person” there are many games that have segments that can be very initiating to many people. And it’s been slow for the industry to take note of these things, and they won’t continue to change without people telling them about such stuff and how it bothers them

Here is one “farm” example, where several of these are linked to one of my bases with SRTs (you can expand your base boundary as well). The enclosure and the inward slopes just help keep them together so they don’t roll away from you when mining

If you save after harvesting and then reload, or travel a certain distance from the cluster (I think it’s somewhere around 600u) the balls will re-spawn and they can be harvested again as well. So you don’t need a ton of them in a cluster, or a ton of farms.

But you can luck out sometimes and find huge clusters of RM together, like in the second pic

so, you have two options:

1. after dreadnought surrenders:

• Board and demand tribute
• Destroy the dreadnought without boarding

Both are relatively small rewards, tribute is just some gold, destroying rewards some units

2. don't let the dreadnought surrender, don't destroy the engines and destroy it before it runs away (the easier option) or if you destroyed the engines, destroy it before it can surrender

• this will usually reward an S class Freighter Upgrade
• or a Star ship reactor, tho it's rare for it to drop

In my 300 hours I just recently learned those carnivore plants that snap close or the bulbs that release toxin can be approached and you can harvest oxygen sacks from them. 1 from the snappy boys and 3 from the bulbs. Both give significantly more oxygen than just multi tool harvesting them from a distance

okay check this out. A friend recently started a NEW save (don't ask why.. oh lords) And in it is the very first part where they have to make a house. So to fulfill it they did THREE walls annd a roof. Mitey come flyin in and goes "gimme 5 minutes: because there was scorching rain. Bammo. Roof. Kitchen. living room. Teleporter and a landing pad.. yes in 7 minutes.

I've had a couple be stuck like that for days. Eventually you have to click Abandon. It will give you all the rewards and log entries up until it got stuck, so all is not lost.

you could try X class upgrades, you might need to use a lot of them cause some of them are really underwhelming like +6% dmg then you get ones that are like +18% dmg, +25% fire rate.

It’s not about luck, this community has always been very mature compared to other communities. We don’t like to crap on the game, we help each other, and the people here are mostly those who either start falling in love or are already in love with NMS. We welcome and respect everyone.
